Promoting Choices Are Endless For Small Business

by on Mar.29, 2009, under Advertising

Often, the biggest obstacle that most, if not all, small businesses have is a limited budget. Let’s face it. Having a small business makes it difficult for you to have the most glamorous marketing campaign such as that of the big firms and Fortune 500 companies.

Search Engine Submission Service

And you know for a fact that advertising is truly expensive. If you don’t look out, you might just wake up one day with your funds depleted, and strapped with a marketing campaign that provides lackluster performance.

Website Submission

Knowing you have other things to allocate your funds for, you know that you have to consider all things first before you can shell out your hard earned dollars for your coveted marketing tool. Be it full color flyers, or even a large format poster, you can’t afford to be picky when you’re looking at a very small fund to stretch.

With the funds you’re operating on is just enough to get you a decent marketing campaign for your business, it’s no wonder that many business owners and marketers are turning to other alternative promotional vehicles to introduce their brands. In fact, most marketers and advertisers are looking at ways to get attractive and compelling marketing campaigns for the price they can afford of course.

But this is a common misconception of most business owners and advertisers about advertising that should be changed right away. Although a limited budget may mean limited access to the most expensive ads such as your full color flyer printing campaign or your large format poster printing project, it doesn’t mean that you should settle for a mediocre piece.

On the contrary, having a limited budget means you will be able to come up with a more creative ad campaign that will help you effectively introduce your business to your target market.

And it’s not all print ads actually. Marketing your business can be advantageous in a way because you’re able to hand out to your target clients your message in a nice piece of paper. But as always, you can also try some alternatives that can help you promote your business better.

You might want to try co-sponsoring a worthwhile activity, for example. It may be in promotions, events, trade shows, and exhibits located locally. This way, as a small business, you’ll be recognized as a supporter of your community endeavors. This is actually what most big companies do to market their name and brand. As a potential client looks at the new ads, they will be eager to see that you are a staunch supporter of the local community, and hence, a better choice between you and your competitors.

The key is not therefore be frustrated just because you happen to work on a very limited amount. Small businesses are often very imaginative, especially when it comes to stretching their money and making sure that every penny is put to good use. They may not have the money, but they do have excellent marketing tools that show professionalism and credibility.

Buy A Diascount Computer And Get The Same Features As That Of A New Computer

by on Mar.28, 2009, under Technology

The person that wants a low cost computer may be a student or the ordinary business man. The answer to this question can be answered better by asking another question. Why should I buy a discount computer? The way computers change so much, you can buy a computer now and it will be outdated in six months or less. So not can students and businessmen benefit with buying this type of computer, but the person who wants a computer without paying a high price is the targeted market.

Cost effectiveness of low cost computers is much higher than that of a regular computer. Discount computers versus regular ones, has to be the easiest choice you will ever have to make. These computers can provide everything you need, for a price that is affordable to you. Because the price is right and you can have every thing you could possibly need. These computers are not costly. You could even afford two if necessary!

Discount Versus Regular Computers

Finding low cost computers is achievable by looking at flyers in the newspaper, at discount stores, and web sites online. You can also check with schools. There are many great computers for fair price. You can find discount computers with just the same amount of storage, memory, and software as new ones. The difference is the cost. Students, business people and or those who work from home can afford to have a desktop or laptop at an affordable price. Because all discount computers come with a standard software package, a cheaper computer is actually the best deal.

When you think about a these discount computers, you may think they are only ‘used’ and you don’t want a ‘used’ computer. This not the case with a low cost computer; it is actually a low cost computer with many of the same features as an expensive one. You won’t lose quality by buying a low cost computer. Even if you find sales with very cheap prices, it could be because of a slight blemish or other exterior flaw. This does not affect the inner workings of a computer.

Some Points to Remember

Low cost computers come with enough memory, the same standard software package, and storage space equivalent to high price computers. The look is the same, there may be a blemish or flaw in the exterior, but sometimes this is true of the higher priced ones also. The last thing to remember is even if there is no keyboard or mouse; they are under $30 for a set. You may not get speakers with your discount computer, but you can find these cheaply elsewhere.

Summary:

Discount computers versus regular ones, has to be the easiest choice you will ever have to make. These computers can provide everything you need, for a price that is affordable to you. Because the price is right and you can have every thing you could possibly need. These computers are not costly. You could even afford two if necessary!

Clean Computer And Save Money

by on Mar.28, 2009, under Technology

saving you money
are chock full of great technology that allows you to do more than you ever have with a computer while spending less. This functionality comes at a price though….and its a hefty one. The price shows up as heat. Nowadays, the standard PC you would purchase for browsing the internet, checking your email and watching movies is a dual core architecture (CPU ) and it may or may not have a separate video card (GPU). there are also a whole host of other electronics inside your computer that use energy to operate. the byproduct of all this energy these electronics use is heat. If you were to open up your computer, you would see the manufacturer has gone to great lengths to make sure that the heat that is generated inside the case, exits the case immediately with a few strategically placed fans.

I build my own PC’s because I like to play online games so Im very concerned with making sure the electronics in my case run as cool as possible. I use what I would consider cutting edge architecture with quad core CPU( thats right, 4 CPU’s ) and a very expensive Video card that has its own fan system. On average, my computer uses about 200 watts of energy just idling..waiting for me to do something with it. For comparison, think about walking in front of a 100 watt light bulb. Remember how surprised you were when you noticed how much heat was radiating from the bulb? Now multiply it by 2! An off the shelf computer most likely doesn’t create that much heat, but my point is, there is a cost associated with “using” your computer.
One problem with using fans to suck cool air from the outside of the computer case is that along with the air, a lot of household dust is sucked right along with it. This dust accumulates INSIDE your computers case on surfaces called heatsinks which work like the radiator in your car. If you accumulate enough of this dust, you essentially cripple the cooling system from moving heat away from the electronics. Hot electronics are unhappy electronics, so the computer is designed to increase the fan speed to get more air into and out of the computer. if your computer is much noisier now than it was when you first bought your computer, its probably because you need to arrange a good internal cleaning.

You can do it yourself…or…if you are nervous about tinkering with your computer call in a Pro. the good places will come right to your house and give your PC a thoroug cleaning for somewhere around $50. It should only take about an hour and if you have it done once a year, you will prolong the life of your computer saving you money all around.

One Month At Wealthy Affiliate University

by on Mar.27, 2009, under Online Marketing

My time with Wealthy Affiliate University has been a tremendous education. Before joining Wealthy Affiliate I was surfing online for ways to make money. I had seen several websites and advertisements. I searched through Google for additional information regarding the websites I was interested in. I ended up joining Wealthy Affiliate University and the reason was simple. All of the advertisements, affiliate promotions, blog sites, and review pages said the same thing. There was even a blog thread, where people were comparing being a part of Wealthy Affiliate University paying by month or paying for all the information in one lump sum from another merchant, that being ProfitLance. The consensus was Wealthy Affiliate University was a genuine place to apply online marketing. It was not a place where you are going to make money fast, like “get rich quick” schemes. To date, I have not made a sale, but don’t get me wrong. There have been people who join and several days later have made money. One particular instance was a gentleman, who posted a link on one of his blog sites, which netted him a sale. That was after three days. I am new to Internet marketing. I view this endeavor as if I have gotten a new job as an advertising professional. So if you think about it, how long does it take to become professional internet marketer? It doesn’t happen overnight, especially trying to make thousands a day.

After joining Wealthy Affiliate University I got instant access to the website. The content presented was great. I was guided to several areas within the site. First and foremost is the eight-week action plan. It is exactly as it sounds. Each week, you have individual tasks that you want to complete. I was also guided to setting up a WA “myspace” area, much like a MySpace account, where people talk and make friends. Lastly, I was told to introduce myself on the WA Forum and post a couple of threads. They recommended you read through as many posted threads as possible to get an idea of what goes on at Wealthy Affiliate.

After roaming around a bit checking out all the information, reading threads, making a few posts, I found myself back at the eight-week action plan. I noticed on the tabs to the left “The Learning Center”. This is where I started to dig in. There was a wealth of knowledge here. All the information was broken down into step-by-step instructions, and links to places you needed to go in order to set yourself up as a professional internet marketer. I spent the next week, experimenting, setting up user accounts, reading about article marketing, understanding pay per clicks (paying for advertising) and getting a handle on the concept of being a professional advertiser.

After one month at Wealthy Affiliate University, I have published three Squidoo articles, created a Google adwords account (a $5 setup fee). If you are a tight budget or don’t have a lot of money, it is advised not to actually promote a campaign until you become more proficient at marketing. The way to go is article marketing, which is free, and there are complete tutorials on how to develop and publish articles. Simple put you can create your own free advertising campaign. I also bought a domain name, built a website and posted it to the web. I set up a click bank account which created a number of product choices to sell. I was also able to find other affiliate programs to promote and advertise on my web site. Some people with experience may find they can utilize Wealthy Affiliate University to produce faster results given their level of expertise. The forum is the place where the people inside come from a wide degree of backgrounds and experience, all willing to share information to those with questions.

There is so much information at Wealthy Affiliate. I know I have just scratched the surface. I am committed to spend the time and work to understand internet marketing. Make no mistake what you put into it and the attitude you apply to learning is what makes things happen. I have been able in a very short time, to set up a business with products, advertising and so much more. I have very little computer skills. No one can spoon feed you every step of the way, especially in a fierce environment like advertising or as it’s called “affiliate marketing” but Wealthy Affiliate University is as close as you will get. I know there are other good affiliate programs out there but for now I found my home. You can learn more at Wealthy Affiliate. It is also prudent to check out other internet marketing programs.

Learn Ways To Increase Your Google Page Rank

by on Mar.27, 2009, under SEO Tools

For me, how to increase your page rank in Google is not rocket science. The key is without doubt to obtain as many backward links as possible, however these links have to be not only reciprocal links but also one way links. In this article, I describe simple ways of how to obtain both of these types of links.

I am fairly sure, that most people who have a website are looking at the best ways of increasing their page rank in google. In this article I give free tips on how I believe you should go about doing this. These techniques are what I use on all of my websites.

I have spent huge amounts of money on search engine optimisation, which I now feel is wasted cash. For me, by far and away the most important thing is to obtain as many backward links to our websites as possible. This should be an ongoing project, far too many people in my opinion try to get rich quick, by for example buying a thousand links. This is a huge mistake, as it is totally un-natural, these people are normally penalised by google. My advice is to steadily increase links daily, hard work pays off and is normally rewarded. I also would certainly not ever buy a thousand links anyway.

So far we have established that we require lots and lots of backward links, the next question is how to obtain them. There are two types of links, reciprocal and non reciprocal. Non reciprocal links are of much higher value as they are seemingly harder to get. I actually disagree with this last point, if you write articles, like the one you are reading, one way links can be obtained quite easily, more on this later. Quick tip, start writing articles now, with the flood of blogs now joining the web, writing articles are without doubt, going to be the best and easiest way of obtaining one way links.

Non reciprocal links

To ask a person who has a website to add a link to your website for no reason, or without you adding a link back in return, is unlikely to meet a positive response.

To obtain these non reciprocal links my advice is to:

Write articles. Writing articles is an excellent way of gaining non reciprocal or one way links. Other webmasters are able to use your article on their website, including the links to your website. The article website you submit the article to, also gives you this one way link on their site.

Get a blog. Blogging is likely to become the next big thing on the internet. If you add a link to your main website on the blog this could then appear on every page. Over time a blog could have hundreds of pages.

Purchase a link text ad. It may be worthwhile purchasing a link text ad from a quality well established website. This should attract visitors to your site plus has the added page rank value for the backward link.

Reciprocal links

In any link management campaign it is also useful to obtain as many reciprocal links aswell. My advice would be to join a scheme such as linkmetro, this saves a huge amount of time, which could be better spent writing articles.

PPC Advertizing Services Is It Good For You

by on Mar.27, 2009, under SEO Tools

PPC advertising services, or pay per click advertising services, are becoming more and more common as the internet gains more and more prominence. Whenever a new method of communication is introduced, a new method of advertising is born. It is similar to the way television changed advertising, bringing in moving pictures to entice people into purchasing products.

Pay per click is a great way to advertise with minimal risk. Traditionally, advertisers pay for exposure or air time and the cost changes depending on the slot that they want. Primetime is definitely among the more expensive air slots while 2 in the morning probably comes a lot cheaper. This is because there are less viewers likely to be watching at that particular moment or space of time.

PPC advertizing services were made because of this change. On the internet, there is no real prime time or down time ?if somethings on the internet, you don’t really know when people are going to be looking at it. It’s the internet ?it’s always online and can be viewed anywhere around the world. They needed a different way of pricing their time online and that was figured out through conversion. PPC advertising services only pay the webmaster when someone actually shows interest by clicking on the ad itself.

For webmasters, this means that having ads on their website wont necessarily make money. To maximize the chances of PPC advertizing services paying them, they need to generate their own traffic. With more people looking over the website, there is a higher chance that someone will show interest and click the ad, which is what gets the webmaster paid.

There are different kinds of PPC advertizing services. They vary both in the method that the ads are sorted and the trigger for payment. The most common and perhaps the most well known among ppc advertizing services is the keyword based PPC. These are the kinds of ads that come up because they are related to the site you are currently viewing, which improves the chances that you’ll be interested in the ad itself.

A fantastic example of this would be Google’s Adwords. Other PPC advertizing services are in product and service search engines, which could be considered the internet’s version of the yellow pages, wherein you can easily search for the specific provider you’re looking for. Most of the time, advertisers who pay more come up earliest on the search results, usually on the first page. However, PPC advertizing services are usually wary as these sites can have the results sorted by price, eliminating their payment advantage.

There are other versions of PPC advertizing services but it’s all about payment upon completion of a requirement. The internet is a far different medium from the television or the radio and as such, must be treated differently, the way that architects treat two different materials differently. Despite this change, there is still a lot of money to be made on the internet, money in marketing and advertising. Any webmaster who wants to make a profit should be aware of PPC advertising services.

Building Links To Your Site

by on Mar.26, 2009, under SEO Tools

Over the years there has been lots of discussion in the SEO community regarding building links to a web site. The debate is particularly heated at the moment, as Google rolls out its “Jagger” upgrade.

Let’s start with what we mean by inbound links, also called backlinks. These are links from other sites to your URL, which direct the surfer directly to your site when the link is clicked. The basic premise is that if you have high ranking sites linking to you, then you must yourself be important and have valuable content, and hence you should rank highly. The way in which Google ranks sites is called Pagerank and can be seen as a green line on the Google Toolbar representing ranks 0 to 10. As Google states

PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves “important” weigh more heavily and help to make other pages “important.”

Important, high-quality sites receive a higher PageRank, which Google remembers each time it conducts a search. Of course, important pages mean nothing to you if they don’t match your query. So, Google combines PageRank with sophisticated text-matching techniques to find pages that are both important and relevant to your search. Google goes far beyond the number of times a term appears on a page and examines all aspects of the page’s content (and the content of the pages linking to it) to determine if it’s a good match for your query.

So, back to the question “Does having inbound links to your site help your site’s credibility”, and hence visibility when searched. The broad answer to this question is “yes”, but with a number of very important caveats which we will cover in the other sections.

OK, so backlinks are basically good, especially from high ranking sites, so how do we get them? The first way, and best way, is by having such great content on your site that all these high-powered sites want to link to you. Downside to this method is that it is slow and takes lots of time and effort on your part. But don’t worry, when anyone tries to build a level playing field there are always people out there that will provide work-arounds.

The first one was reciprocal links, whereby you say that you will link to a site if they also link to you. That’s stretching the original idea, but it’s not too bad because how many of these sort of links are you going to set up? Well, actually, some people have created thousands of such links between sites, maybe not what Google initially intended!

But then, due to the emphasis Google placed on link popularity, the concept of link farms was born. These are sites that link to other sites purely to increase the links to the site. Pay a few dollars and get thousands of links to your site. Too good to be true – you bet. Google hates link farms and sees these links as spam and will actively penalise sites that use such links. So, the first rule of linking is do not use link farms. The second rule is do not use lots of reciprocal links, Google can easily check this and the “Jagger” update that is currently rolling out seems to be particularly focused on penalising sites with lots of reciprocal links. The jury is still out on whether “themed” links will be treated in the same way. “Themed” links are links to sites that are very closely aligned to the same primary topic as your own site. If you think about this, it makes a lot of sense and is much more likely to be based on real content-based linking.

We believe another area Google is focusing on is how quickly your site gains backlinks. If your site is one month old, it is hardly believable for it to gain 100 real backlinks in that time. So, the third rule of linking is to ensure your links build in a realistic way. In all of these ways, Google is trying to ensure fairness and that’s why new sites are often held back in the results pages.

Finally, we should mention the sites that will improve your ranking – the Directories. There are many of these, but the most important is DMOZ, also known as the ODP. DMOZ is the Open Directory Project and is the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web. It is constructed and maintained by a vast, global community of volunteer editors. It gets the name DMOZ from the acronym for Directory Mozilla, as it is administered by Netscape Communication Corporation. It’s Pagerank is 9 and hence a link from DMOZ will help your site. We recommend that everyone visits http://dmoz.org and attempts to get listed, it’s free. The Yahoo directory is also important and free for non-commercial sites, but $299 a year for business.

So, in summary, by far the best way of getting links is by having a quality site that other people want to link to. So again, we are back to content. If you provide quality information, over time, more and more sites will link to you, and if they are in the same business sector as you, so much the better.

And now a poem

Written by my partner, reflecting the Jagger update.

Just when you thought it was safe,
To step once more into the water,
Google throws in an undertow,
For doing things you didn’t oughta,
Just when the surfboard is glistening,
And you’re ordering champagne,
Google has been quietly listening,
And feels you need more pain,
Those link farms you visited,
Weren’t health farms after all
Reciprocal now is the term
For what Big G’s doing to you all,
Your trillions of two way linkages
Now millstones to make you stagger,
Your new nightmare shrinkages,
Brought to you today by Jagger,
A strident voice proclaiming links,
Are running quickly out of time,
Under the boardwalk of history,
Lying decimated all down the line,
This will not be the last time,
That your website is torn and frayed,
That Google will paint it black,
Or the devils sympathy card is played,
Just shine a light on your website,
Is it still under your thumb?
Or is it hijacked like flight 505,
By others who would become,
Your link promoting partners,
Who just ask your link return,
And now you owe the reaper,
And your harvest starts to burn,
Simmering in the torrid glare,
Of a Google bent on being cool,
Where everyone should fight fair,
Everyone obey the golden rule,
And slowly and inexorably we move,
Out of shadow and into light,
With every upgrade evening up,
The distance twixt wrong and right,
And every route 66 drives towards,
Eliminating devious spam-like crimes,
And ever inexorably inches forward,
Towards its own stated guidelines.

Search Engine Optimization Marketing Explained – To Boost Up Your Online Visibility

by on Mar.25, 2009, under Search Engine Marketing

Search Engine Optimization Software

Search Engine have changed into a new consumer, communications and marketing channel. Google, Yahoo and MSN serve 213 million searches a day. In fact, 9 out of 10 internet surfers use a Search Engine to start their virtual journey. Therefore, if your website doesn’t have visibility in the engines, you are missing significant volumes of traffic.

Natural vs. Paid for Listings

There are essentially two listings within a Search Engine Results Page (SERP): the Natural listings (on the left) and the Paid for listing (on top and on the right). Natural listings are the results the engine believes to be the most relevant sites to your search. The natural listings consistently receive over 70% of consumer clicks. Paid for listings are the ads served by Advertisers, who have bid on the term searched for by the traffic. The Natural listings therefore list all available websites in the World Wide Web, while the Paid for listings only serve links by relevant Advertisers willing to pay for their spot, and thus high visibility in the engines. To improve their Reach, advertisers can pay for ads on the Search Engines themselves, as well as their local listings, mobile listings and their Content Network of websites.

Pay per Click (PPC). Pay only for Visitors

Unlike others marketing channels where you pay for the number of people who see your ad, in pay per click advertising (PPC) you only pay when someone clicks on your ads and is driven through to your website search for goods and services through a Search Engine.
• PPC has the cheapest cost per lead compared to other Direct Marketing methods.
• PPC advertising is relevant to what the searcher is searching for – targeting them at the right moment and mood.
• Pay per click is 100% traceable.
• Advertisers can know the cost of each conversion in real-time, and campaigns can be instantly optimised for maximum ROI.

What is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)?

Search engine Optimisation, or SEO as it’s commonly known as, is an internet marketing strategy that involves designing, writing and coding your entire site with the intention of enabling search engines to index your site easily and efficiently. The sole aim and objective is for it to rank higher for keywords relevant to your business. Optimising a website is critical to gaining visibility on the organic or natural (left hand side) search results (SERP’s) of search engines. Search Engine Optimization, is done in two stages, known primarily as on page and off page. On page involves the sites itself and essentially evolves around the design, build and copy laid out within the actual site. Off page relates with ongoing SEO development and includes link building campaigns, news and article submissions, paid or free directory submissions and joining discussion forums that relate to your chosen business. The latter is basically about gaining 3rd party exposure of your website.

On Page Factors

• Keyword choose
• Keyword density checks
• Credible copywriting
• Meta tags scripting
• Clean and valid mark-up (HTML)
• Link management

Off Page Factors

• Free / paid directory submission
