Vivienne Westwood Introduces New Alice in Wonderland Inspired Scent
When most people think of designer Vivienne Westwood they don’t always think about fragrance. Usually, what springs to mind is Vivienne Westwood clothing or Vivienne Westwood bags, but the iconic Brit has also developed scents. The newest offering from Westwood is a fragrance called Naughty Alice, which is already gaining rave reviews from perfume fans not only for its great scent, but also because of it’s attractive packaging. That the perfume looks as good as it smells shouldn’t surprise anyone considering that Westwood is a designer as known for her showmanship as she is for her perfect tailoring. Never one for the natural or understated Vivienne Westwood clothing are glamorous, over-the-top and luxurious. The new fragrance, which debuts at Selfridges in London in mid-September and will be available everywhere in October, is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. In fact, Vivienne Westwood clothing, as well as the designer herself, dominated the London premiere of the movie with many of the film’s stars clad in Westwood creations. Westwood’s fragrance homage to the Lewis Caroll tale is said to be inspired by “magic and mischief” and was created by Bruno Jovanovic, the designer of other scents like Idole d’Armani. The new perfume is described as a musky-floral with notes of carnal violent, ylang-ylang and black rose. Naughty Alice’s packaging is an attractive soft blue and gold and the bottle comes with a chain bracelet twisted around the neck that features a dangling heart with the Vivienne Westwood accessories trademark crown-and-orb symbol. A perfect way to bring a little bit of Westwood’s luxe rebellion into your own life.
